A scrappy encounter at The Marine Travel Arena ended 1-1 after a late Tom Dickens own goal cancelled out Morgan Williams’ free kick.
The visitors came out of the blocks quickly after Williams scored a stunning free kick with just eight minutes played.
A looping, precise strike was placed perfectly into the top right corner from the number 18, leaving Fraser Barnsley helpless.
A superb save from Barnsley at point blank range kept the score at 1-0 after what looked like would be a second for The Linnetts.
In tricky conditions, both teams struggled to create dangerous chances throughout the remainder of the first half.
With the weather easing, the hosts began to knock on the door of Kings Lynn with play resuming in the second half.
Despite lots of possession Bobby Grant’s men were unable to force Aaron Chapman into making a save with Sinclair Smith’s wild effort coming closest to levelling the scoring.
After a few half chances Marine found a breakthrough in the 82nd minute thanks to an own goal from Dickens.
Substitute Ash Hunter whipped in a delicious ball which connected with the number 12 and into his own net.
With three points on the line both teams tried desperately to grab the winner but were unable to create anything of note in the closing stages resulting in the points being shared.
