A top performance saw a victorious Marine claim all three points on the road to Worksop.
The win saw them move into 11th in the Enterprise National League North after an own goal and a Matty McDonald strike.
It was a dream start for The Mariners after Luke Waterfall placed the ball in the back of his own net with 10 minutes played.
Finlay Sinclair Smith played it across goal towards George Newell but a touch from the defender was enough to trickle the ball past Tommy Taylor.
Worksop responded well and started to create some great chances in the final third.
The best of these fell to Alex Starcenko who blasted one goalwards only to see his powerful effort parried away superbly by the returning Fraser Barnsley.
Marine’s second came after a needless error from The Tigers saw McDonald latch onto a loose ball inside the penalty area.
The number ten calmly took the ball around the goal keeper and placed it into the back of an empty net to score his second of the season.
Worksop’s response in the second half was one that put The Mariners under plenty of pressure for the majority of play after the restart.
The home side's biggest threat seemed to come from set pieces as they looked to get back into the game.
After piling on the pressure with crosses into the box, a lifeline came when substitute Chae Whitman-Brown found Liam Hughes in the box who smashed home from close range.
With pressure increasing, Bobby Grant’s team stayed resolute and brought all three points back to Merseyside.
